Ghost Detector: Ectify is a ghost hunting app for iPhone and Android, built by independent developer Alexandre Grisey and first released in 2026. It was made for people who love the atmosphere of a paranormal investigation, and who would like a tool that looks good and starts instantly, without pretending to be a scientific instrument.

## Who makes Ectify

Ectify is made by [Alexandre Grisey](https://alexandre-grisey.fr/), an independent mobile app developer. You can find Alexandre on [X](https://twitter.com/nomalex_) and [Telegram](https://t.me/alex0x47).

## What the app is for

Most ghost hunting apps felt dated, or asked you to set up several tools before anything happened. Ectify's goal is the opposite: one button, and a session that looks and feels good in a dark room. It is designed for what its store listing calls entertainment, and we hold to that. We'd rather explain [exactly how it works](https://ectify.app/how-it-works) than leave you guessing about what a reading means.

## How our guides are written

The [blog](https://ectify.app/blog) covers the wider hobby, including gear, audio, safety, locations and history. These are the principles we write to:

- **Readings aren't proof.** We don't present an EMF spike, a spirit box word or a strange sound as evidence of the paranormal.
- **Ordinary explanations come first.** Most guides spend more time on what can fool you than on what might be strange.
- **We say what a recommendation is based on.** Where a buying guide relies on published specifications rather than hands-on testing, it says so.
- **We link to sources** for specific claims where we can.
- **We mention our own app, and we tell you it's ours.** Treat what we say about Ectify as coming from the people who make it.
